now that I have your attention, i have a 350/350 out of my '70 sport wagon that i want to put in a '85 regal that had the craped out 6 in it. if any links on this subject are out there please let me know. Also can i use the tranny crossmember that came with for dual exhaust and will it bolt up to the 350 thanks folks :3gears: :Brow: :Smarty: :Dou: :TU:

    alec296 i need another buick

    crossmember

summit racing has crossmembers or you could try crossmembers.com
i have one to fit a 400 in regal with enuff room for 3 in pipes
as far as 350/350 should bolt in with with v6 mounts(i suggest poly grand national mount as v6 mounts are really soft/stretchy)
driveshaft should be fine. can use brackets and pulleys off either engine.
should get a v8 radiator and fan shroud. the v6 is basiclly the same as a 350 so it everything will work the only problem i found is that some cars have the body over on the frame farther then others as the pass side valve cover might touch the ac box and the accel cable is ball style on the skylark and the regal has a shaft so you will need to try to grind off ball and get a holly bolt on accel adapter unless you go with a different carb.also points dist have a resistor somewhere in the car and the regal wont so i suggest a hei or point conversion kit( summit has plenty of brands that go in a stock dist for less than 90 bucks) :TU:
    good luck

yeah, it should be a bolt in. any problems should be minor.although i never tried headers on this i have done three swaps already and they all went well.
i also scavenged a 3.42 for 7.5 rear out of a s-10 .the crossmember out of the wagon might work with some work
    should be a fun ride

    350 regal easy

had a 81 regal; used a 72 skylark 350/350 and went right in . Posten buick has motor mounts for the direct fit to the cradle, and use factory exhaust, use the cross member and make a 3 inch bracket to the tail stock mount to fit and cut the factory regal cross member and use a 3 inch square 1/4 wall tube steel, cut to 4 inch long and cut open to a u channel and cut out a section to the cross and weld in for the exhaust to go thru. Fan shroud use 69-70 electra for short shroud. use 71-72 electra lesabre power steering pump bracket, and use regal pump, may have to use a longer gm hose of same years other gm cars. I used the ac bracket of the v6 and used the ac pump off v6 on the v8, all holes on heads are the same 350/455/231/252. Use low air box to carb, aftermarket intake may hit hood, I used a 3 core skylark radiator, worked fine. keep only ac wires, starter wires, distrib wire and gauge the car with custom guages, and ball up all other wires under firewall. Take out ECM and use for hot wires to power gauges. Use 72 or older and get better torque, and have fun, cg
