I just recently acquired a 4-bolt main SBC 350 that I am gonna build for my Regal in the next upcoming months.

I was curious what headers I need to use for the conversion? I read the sticky but it wasn't very specific on what vehicle the super comps were intended for.

Also any other issues I should know about before beginning the conversion?

Doc, On one hand welcome to the board, on the other you might need to go to a chevy site to get info on swapping a sbc into your Regal. This is afterall the V8 Buick powered Regal forum. I understand that sometimes a person just wants cheap eazy to get parts for power may have no brand loyalty interets and is fine with following the herd. The board is not completely intollerant to others peoples ideas or goals but the board was created to talk about building swaping running V8 Buick engines. Heck I myself am not currently running a Buick V8 powered car. But if you are open minded enough to consider Buick power there are people here in the know and that will bend over backward to help you as long as you appreciate it. Aside from the motor you may have other Buick or g-body related questions and we will help as we can.

    Hi Doc,
The Malibu was the Chevy version of the G-body. If you're planning to use a Chevy engine you'll use parts made for the Malibu SS.

Thanks for the heads up Vern. I have already received several emails concerning the SBC going into the buick. I guess I will go to a Chevy site to find help. I completely understand loyalty and didn't mean to rub anyone the wrong way.

    John,

I think you're referring to the Monte Carlo, or the Monte Carlo SS. I believe the Malibu, even in its '80s incarnation, was classified as an A-body.

    Doc,

Welcome to the board! Like Vern said, we are mostly concerned with V8 Buick G-body swaps, so any info found here will be limited with regards to SBC stuff. I'm sure if you pick up a set of headers for any 305/350 SBC G-body, they'll be what you need. Probably the more expensive, the better the fit, but that's not always the case. If you buy cheapies, like FlowTechs, have the hammer ready. Good luck with the swap!

The 78'- 88' rear drive chassis of the Cutlass, Regal's, Malibu's, Monte's & Grand Prix's we're all G-bodies. In 78' was the first year of this downsized car from what the 77' Cutlass, Regals etc. were. Even though Buick didn't continue with a G-body rear drive car in 88' The Cutlass did extend into 88' it was the only year G-body Cutlass that had the full across glass dual head lights. Everything went front wheel drive after that in 89' Yuk :blast:
