Hey all, need help with my 10 bolt. I got it years ago for my car and now I am starting to work on it. Here is the issue. I have TA no hop bars that used to be installed on my 12 bolt. I cannot get them to fit the 10 bolt. I am affraid I got a wrong rear axle. The code on the axle tube is this

    CDC 141 1 G

I cannot find any match for this code on any website. When I purchased rear, guy told me it was out of a 69 Chevelle. Its got a posi and a new set of 3.55 in it.

The area I am having issues with is on the front of the axle housing the TA bar contacts the square bump that comes out of the housing. Can this bump be grinded down, what is its purpose. buickaxle.jpg buickaxle1.jpg

Never saw that before. Are you mounting the bars on the inside of the rear ears? Can't tell from the pictures.

That is a casting boss. It can be ground flush if you want.

Yes mounting the bars on the inside of the ears.

And cool I just wanted to make sure that I could grind those things down. Didn't want to carrier flying though the housing first time I step on it.

    Thanks Buickrat and Larry70GS
