Does anybody know they're way around an 87 grand nat turbo engine. I want to buy one and test drove the car andit did funny things. Ran fine until I gave it the gas at around 50 mph.
It downshifted as it should, began to pull pretty well then power fell off and I think i may have heard some pinging. Also the turbo boost gauge is not working. The owner says that this is a recent problem. I am not afraid of having to fix some things,I just don't want to uncover a really expensive one. Also there is an exaust leak under the car. Thanks for any help given. P.S. the 455 Skylark is staying this car would just be a buddy to hang with in the garage!

I now alittle about it. First is it bone stock? Without a boost gage their is no telling how much boost. That can cause a world of problem's. I live down 75 in sadieville if you need some help looking at the car.
