    I have one notation on my firewall tag that I cannot figure out. I'm sure someone can help me here. Reference the "F" in line 2 below - what does that stand for?

    ST70 44637 FL1 049376 BDY

    TR 189 68 F PNT

    09C

    Also, can anyone comment on when the Stage 1 cars started to be built at Flint. I think this is a fairly early build (09C), invoice date was 9/23/1969.

    Thanks,

    Ross

    ST70 = Style 1970 model year
    44637= GS 455 2dr hardtop
    FL1 = Flint
    049376 BDY=Fisher Body number
    68 = Burnished Saddle lower body color
    F=Dark Brown vinyl top
    TR 189 = Burnished Saddle Bucket Interior
    09C = Body built 3rd week of September, 1969.

    My GSX Prototype was built 09A (1st week of September, 1969) and is a Stage 1. I have seen earlier examples, too.

    Contact The Sloan Museum...They have the records for your car and can document how the car was built...i.e. Stage 1 or not.

    Lots of triple brown 70 GS cars were built...mine is an 8E, Stage 1, 4sp.

    Good luck!

    Thanks guys - I thought the "F" might be the vinyl color. I did get the Sloan docs but that did not decode the "F". Appreciate the help,

    Ross
