help please convertible rams are they suppose to be curved

    on my 1970 buick skylark

    I removed one on the hydrulic rams that lift the top up and down., because it had a leak. The piston had a bend in it like this ---> \ should it be like that or should the piston go straight up and down? Before I removed it, it seemed to fit into place properly. Also are the arms pretty expensive to replace? How much should they cost about?

    I may take a picture of the arm and include it in the post later.

    The pistons pivot as the top is raised or lowered. You can get new ones or do a seal kit on yours if they are leaking. Contact a local hydraulic shop in your area or one of the convert top shops on the internet such as the one below:

    Are you saying the actual shaft coming out of the cylinder is curved? If so, not good...

    That rod should not be curved at all!!!!

    Just went through the whole thing my self! Buy new ones! Yes buy both of them....!
