HEY GUY I HAVE A 160000 ENGINE THAT NOW IS BLOWING BLUE....BUT IT RUNS SO STRONG AND GETS UP REALLY QUICKI THINK NUTTIN IS WRONG WITH IT..UNTILL I BUY A NEW ONE I HAVE TO DRIVE IT...ANY IDEAS ON TO HELP IT OR QUICK KICKING THAT BLUE OUT?????/
A million question marks and caps isn't exactly the way to ask a question... Sure your not putting too much oil in it? I'm not too good with the "my car is smoking, and not in a good way" questions. o No:
Is it a constant smoke? Or just when it starts? Go to the parts store and buy some smoke b-gone....and try to live with it until you can get it fixed the right way. o No:
IT SMOKES WHEN I GET IT UP 2 ABOUT 65 AND WHEN IT IDLES... I TRIED USING THAT SMOKE B GONE DIDNT WORK
Well, with an engine with that mileage, your main problem here would most likely be the oil-rings. if the oil rings are bad, oil will reach the combustion space and start burning, causing your car to smoke. Oil rings may be an issue. If the car has black smoke coming out, it must be carboned up. Well, there's my dollars worth of info. Hope it helps:Smarty: -Cody
Intake valve seals prolly dried up and fell off and/or the valve guides are excessively worn. Time for a re-build.
Are you using oil, if so how much? Can you do a compression check? Most likely Cody is right. One really easy thing to check is to pull the PCV hose and see if it is dripping oil, a new pcv valve may help. Valve stem seals could be cracked and they are a easy fix. I bought a Nova one time for pocket change cause it smoked just like yours, at idle and highway speed. It was a pinhole leak in the fuel pump diaghram. Your gonna have to do some diagnostic work. Oh Yea, turn your cap lock off. Lou
I would empty out the car and keep a skateboard in the trunk. If you keep driving it like that, you will be on the side of the road soon. Chances are, you'll soon blow the head gasket, hopefully that will happen before anything else, like a rod shooting through your oil pan. Rebuild now or start saving for another motor entirely.
You could install some new umbrella seals on the valve stems in an afternoon with the help of two more hands, compressed air in the cylinder and a valve spring compressor. Might be worth a try for very little time and $$ investment.
