I am new to Buicks, but have done a lot of Olds and BB Chevy builds.

On a 72 455, what mods would you recommend to have a strong and stretable combo.

I would like to not change pistons.

    Thinking cam, heads, intake, headers.

    Thanks for your knowledge.

Upgrade cam, heads, intake and headers. Top it off with a MSD and a properly rebuilt Q Jet. Dont go to crazy with the cam selection. I think the 72 was like 8.5-1 compression. Finish with a 2500 stall converter.

Lots of people, myself included run high-mid 12's on stock low compression short blocks. Briz's advice will get you there...
