Hello, just curious what this piece is and what it's purpose is besides just mounting the wires to the block Mine has seen better days and was curious if I can replace it, or if I should just go without it.
It's a protective support for the red positive battery cable that attaches to the starter motor, along with all the fuseable links. I think it mounts at the front of the oil pan - at least it does on a 430 engine ! It keeps the starter motor harness in place, as well as protecting the + battery cable from shorting out. :TU:
