Hi All, My computer has recently become posessed. When I am on the net, ie:v8Buick .com, the transmit /send icon is going crazy, even when I am not doing anything. If you open connection details it appears it is sending and recieving all the time. When I open a new post 9 times out of ten I get the "cannot find server" message. Any thoughts??? I am using Sympatico high speed, MS internet explorer. Thanks , Adam.
might be your ISP to be honest with ya. They might be having issues with DNS servers or something else related to you accessing the net.. give them a call and ask if there are any known issues in your area.. if not, i'd try downloading a new web browser, like opera or mozilla firebird.. www.opera.com www.mozilla.org i prefer firebird but whichever one you wanna try. if that doesn't work.. probably computer related in some way..
I would check your system with AdAware.... The board has advertisement banners on the main page that load about every 3-5 seconds also...so you will see a second of activity about every 5 seconds. Mike
Try using Spybot Search and Destroy too (along with AdAware). If you have enough spyware and adware, they can bog down your connection communicating with thier servers. You might also try scanning for a virus - some viri will attempt several hundred random connections in hopes of infecting another machine, and these attempts can also bog down your connection.
Computer Problem Im no techy Adam . . . but a quick trip behind an OC Transpo Bus on a 20' chain along the Western Parkway ought to cure the problem ! I also have a 12 guage - computers can be frustrating ! :Brow: :af: :TU:

I think my problems are more far reaching than I expected, I have saved my important stuff and am going to delete and reload everything. Randy , i like your idea the best!
