Help! Battery, Alt or Reg??

    I just got my Crane HI-6 installed along with my new dist by Dave. I set the test mode to checkout my tach (i need a new one btw) to make sure the wirings done right. Reset the limiter and key on. Light on, all good. I hit RUN and it turns over maybe once then boom! Nothing.. I turn it off, then back on and now I get nothing! No courtesy lights or anything. Volt meter to the battery:

    + = bat pos, - to chassis = a varying needle between 7 & 8.

    + = bat pos, - to bat neg (engine gorund disconnected) = 12.5 volts steady

    Unpluged both wires from the battery and hooked up tester to cables and it reads about 3 volts..

    What the hell is wrong here? Two days ago when I started the install it ran fine. I unpluged everything running directly from the battery as well. No change.. Battery is good.. So whats causing the flux/feedback?

    Help!! I want my car back!

    Did you already talk to Dave about what he thinks might be the problem?
