Post offices hire temporary help in Nov-Dec. Pay is good. I'm not sure of the details. Call one of the larger General mail facilitys (GMF). Good Luck!

Even at $10 an hour... after takes your take home is about $290 a week. As long as you are living at home that may be OK.

But for any other members here who still think getting out of high school and going to work will be the road to self enlightenment... think again.

Go to trade school. Be a plumber or carpenter. Go to college and study math or science.

    Or learn to play guitar.

Best of luck in the military and thanks for doing it. It can be a great stepping stone to a rewarding career down the road. Treat it like college and learn all that you can.

And good luck finding temporary help until then. Contractors seem to always need help... roofing, siding, framing and such.

  9. I can't agree more. I went to school for engineering, just graduated. Took a little while to find work but another guy started the same day as me for the same position. He's been working for 4 years in this field already and I'm making $7000 more per year than he is. Why? I have a degree and he doesn't.

A degree pays off in the end, bigtime.

    One word my son...

    Tiles.

I've been trying for 2 months to find someone who can do tile work that will supply references. I've talked to at least a dozen plumbers and none of them can recommend anyone because they've all had problems.

If I lose my job that's what I'm going to take up. I can charge extortionist rates for simply showing up and finishing a job before I leave.
