My 17 year old son has a snow day today and is trying to put a new timing chain and gears on his 64 Wildcat 401 nailhead. I don't know a thing about timing. Anyone know how to do it and where the timing marks should go? Any help would be great. Thank you!:beer

I don't know how to post copies from my scanner, but the mark on the cam gear should be at the 6 o'clock position, and the one on the crank gear should be at the 12 o'clock position EXACTLY, as if you were drawing a line straight through both shafts.

If you didn't remove the distributor, leave it alone and just reset the timing when done in case the timing moved a little from the new chain.:bglasses:
