Been lurking here for a few weeks and already picked up a ton of great information. Its time I officially said hello, and post up a few pics of my newest money pit!

So I picked up a 71 GS about a month ago for a pretty good deal. The car is in fairly solid condition and I started to replace some of the warn front end suspension parts in the past few weeks.

Some of the issues it had when I bought it were:
Heater core was shot and ruined the passenger side carpet - Bypassed it for now.
Lwr ball joints shot - replaced
Upr and Lwr tie rod ends - replaced
Sway bar bushing and link pins - replaced
Coil springs and shocks - replaced
Rotors shot - replaced with powerstop and matching pads
One caliper seized - replaced both and new ss braided hoses
    Bearings - replaced

I also removed a metric ton of grease from just about everywhere, which was a blessing in disguise because everything underneath it was completely rust free.

    Here are some before pics:

Not too shabby. Some small pencil eraser size rust spots on the lower door outer's and a the rear window trim passenger side.
I don't intend to make it into a show car, or a strip car, just a driver. This is my first classic car, so everything I put in is a labor of love.

The interior is in good condition less the passenger side carpet. All the gauges and lights work inside and out:

I was told it was repainted (confirmed original color) in 2005 so it needs to be detailed in the spring.

I replaced the 245-60-15's on the back with 275-60-15 to get the back end up a bit higher and offset the look the way I want it.
Next its new coils and QA1's for the back. Then Ill have to put her up for he winter :(

Overall, its a super fun car to cruise around in. I'm a happy Buick camper!

Greetings from Sunny Florida. I grew up in the Jackson Mi area. Your car is to clean to be a native Michigan owned car or it was very well taken care of.

Asking price was 13k. It was on consignment, offered 10k and they accepted. I'm in the suburbs like you, Warren right off of 696.

Looks like there are quite a few here from Michigan, cool!

Picked it up in Grand Rapids MI. I'm the 3rd owner. 2nd owner had it since 2002. Not sure if it ever left Michigan or not. It was born in the Flint plant.

If it's numbers matching drivetrain, decent deal! I got mine for $1,350 in '76, those were the days. Been hotrodding it up a little since. Saved every original part. Got questions, the guys here can help!
