Found this site a few months ago while trying to sell parts of my dead skylark. I kept the excellent running 350 out of it then aquired an 80' Firebird trans Am with a blown engine. The TA will be getting the 69' Buick 350 since I loved this engine so much and dont want it to lay around. So far I havent seen a TA with an SBB will be an interesting combination. Here is a pic of the TA its a southern car so no holes! Was a turbo 4.9 but its long gone. Let me know what ya think!
Looks pretty good:TU: The TAs look good in white. I used to have a '78 Formula with the WS6 package. That car was one of the ones that either had good quality or didn't, mine definitely didn't...it rusted and rusted and rusted...yours looks like one that had some quality in it, it looks pretty straight and no holes is good, wish mine had stayed that way. Yours is in about 1000% better shape than mine was, lol. T-tops, too. Gonna be a nice car.
Thanks 462 for the compliments! Yes it is in excellent shape body wise though needs work cosmeticly. I got a good deal on it it was a southern car that I found for sale not far from me. The previous owner brought it up but never had time to fix it. And it is the full Trans Am package, fully optioned WS6 etc.
sbb in a t/a hi i used to own a 79 T/A i put a 69 350 in it was a pain had to make a block on the passenger side to make up the difference the block was bolted in not welded miss that car was quick Rich Martel 70 GS 455
Re: sbb in a t/a Hmm haven't had the 350 in yet I'll have to look into that. I was thinking it should bolt right in seeing that the firebirds came with the 231 V6. Dont they use similar mounts?
Greg it does fit with a few mods the 350 sits at a slightly different angle in the K member fi i remember right the buick is a 90 degrees block while the 231 and others are a 60 degree not much to it just a little tweaking here and there another problem was that the shaker might not fit right had a hood scoop on minealso been a while since i seen the car last time i knew in was in the deleware maryland area still miss it Rich Martel 70 GS 455
