    ST 69-4467FL1 XXXXXXBDY
    TR 105 SCO-2233-A PNT

    DELETE CS STRIPE

    And last but not least I dont see any rivets in this tag..where they used...possibly the wrong tag maybe the reason I cant figure it out???

    Larry,

    ST 69-4467FL1 XXXXXXBDY

    69 = Modelyear

    4 = Buick

    46 = GS 400

    7 = should be 67 for convertible

    F = Flint, Michigan factory

    no clue about the L1 ???

    for XXXXXXX you should see a 6 digits number for production
    sequence

    The VIN should read 4 46 67 9 F XXXXXX

    Larry-

    I'd say you have somethin special there. I am by no means an expert, but SCO generally means a special order car. TR 105 would be your interior trim number. I see no 105 in any of the literature I have. The 2233 should be your paint color. Generally, the top and bottom colors are listed separately. As your number is repeated, I'm guessing it's a convertible car with matching lower body/ convertible top colors?? 2233 does not appear in the literature I have either. What is the color combo now? Is it original paint?

    Also, the 05D means your car was built in the fourth week of May.

    Sounds like a special convertible car! Have any pics to post???

    Ken,

    I was also looking for the 105 trim number and couldn't find it either.
    I also figured out that this was a special order car, maybe that's why we can't find the codes? Paintnumbers started with 40 and up, the only letter I see here is a Q for Fire Glow Orange Poly, no A in the list.

    2233= Ditzler paint code number for Burnished Saddle, a 1970 color. Had the same color on a 70 4 speed convrt.

    Without really looking the TR105 probably has to do with a matching interior considering the SCO paint.

    Yes This is The Car

    And NO I am not the person that is selling it, I am wanting to buy it....But I suppose any chance of that happening is going down the drain with the publishing of this picture here...I could not figure all of the code out and thought that it was unique, that is why I came here for help...Thanks to all of those that have lent a hand in my learning curve here. Oh by the way please feel free to outbid me (02caddytruck) but I am going to get a couple more shots in.. Thanks Again for all of your help..Larry

    There is also another thread on the board concerning this car. I am sure that you still have a shot at getting this car. You may also do a search of that user name on this site (02caddytruck) it does not look familier as a regular member. If it is you could pm so you don't have a bidding war over the car. Good Luck :3gears:

    Actually Mark

    02 caddytruck is me I have owned about every kind of Muscle Car out there in my young life except a Buick or a Convertible..so I thought I would try my luck with getting both in the same shot...I am the current high bidder on the car but after reading the other posts about this car I am not so sure that is a good thing although I have not met the reserve so I am in no way obligated to but it, was just wondering about the authenticity of that trim tag, especially the fact that some of the front end stuff does not match a 69 and NO rivets on the tag really bothers me..if it were a Camaro I would be running for the hills....because I am more familiar with them...Anyways once again I would like to Thank everyone for there help and if anyone can finish the mystery here I would appreciate it..Thanks Again Larry SOWERS ( not a sambucci bros)

    We all are willing to help you here. When you say "finish the mystery" do you mean the trim tag issue? . If so without an inspection, no one is likely to be able to help you unless they have some special info on the car. You could ask that the frame number be phographed but it would require a mirror and some work. It could be compared with the VIN to confirm the trim tag was perhaps just removed during a resto.

    If you mean SCO codes, yes they occurred, and I feel confident that it was originally Burnished Saddle and later repainted red. Have someone look closely around the door jams and the brown paint will show somewhere.

    Buyig a car ove Ebay without an inspection for corrosion is very risky. If you feel strongly enough to buy the car, get it inspected even if it costs . Even the frame could be rusted through.

    Yes it was in the ad

    This is the vin #446679h326549 according to the ad...Another thing is the valve cover where you can see the word "STAGE". I guess one would have to see if it is "RS" I beleive on the side of the block to know for sure...but like I read somewhere in another post that it could be just someone sticking stickers on something??I dont know. It was built in the right factory to be a possible Stage 1, but would need the info on the block, trans, carb & distributor to know for sure...maybe just a pipe dream I am chasing here...I dont know what kind of GS I am looking for..I think for me half the fun is chasing the one that got away or the one that everyone missed...I enjoy the hunt so to speak...I love to find unusual cars that are very unique...Later Larry

    FL1 - is the Flint Fisher Body plant.

    Thanks to Duane, I'm pretty sure trim codes ending in '5' are pearl white, and a 105 would probably be a base interior (straight bench/no armrest).

    Look for the 'RS' between #5 and #7 (and of course the VIN between #1 and #3), and, if it's a TH400, look for the 'BB' tag on the passenger side (and the VIN on the drivers side) of the transmission.

    Good luck, and let us know how you make out :TU:
