ok...here we go can anyone tell me which way the vacume advance is suposed to be facing??? so i guess setiing it up simular to a chevy would be wrong i got a flexy fan w/2" spacer and the advance hose is almost touching the fan blades should i take it back out and go through the whole thing again you know bring it to TDC...finger over the hole.....etc???? not new to HEI's just new to Buick with HEI...any suggestions?? maybe this time i'll get it right Rich Martel 70 GS 455 BPG #1599uzzled:
Mine faces towards the fan also. I have clearance, but it is a little close. I know when playing with the timing, my fingers get pretty close to the fan! Original fan on mine.

Watch those fingers!! I am missing part of one, and it was no fun healing up from the accident that caused it.
Rich my vac. cannister is facing the power steering pump. It doesn't really matter where it faces as long as you have room to turn the distributor to set the advance you want. Mike D.
