I've had a heater hose bracket in my parts stash for years, finally got around to welding the broken part. Question: Where does it go exactly and what color is it? Natural, red ? I looked at Todds website, he has reproductions for the '69 & '70 which look like mine, but the listing doesn't show 350? The 'long' style shows for '71 & '72 455..... I do know it came with the intake, carb, GS air cleaner and hood I bought from a dude locally here that came from a GS 350 car. Did the GS 350 use this bracket? Anyone have a picture of placement and color? Sorry for the long post, too much coffee!
I did a search and found a thread I started in 2017 asking this same question?! My memory isn't what it used to be! I'll read it through and go from there!
Already painted! Satin Black for the win! BTW Jason you were the one who set me straight in 2017, all V8's in '69 & '70 used the short bracket and '71 & '72 V8's used the long one!
The '69 and '70 brackets are gray phosphate. DL had a run of repros a while back that he did that color.
I actually have an original in the parts dept. When I get home I'll look at it a little closer. Looked black to me
Certainly possible that it changed to black in '71. I have a couple '71's but not sure if there's a trace of color on either.
I just grabbed mine and your right, not a trace of color on mine either. Not sure why I thought mine was black. Not even a trace under the bolt head or underneath. Was it ever painted or plated? Maybe it was just bare?
