well thats great, mike i ran into the same problem when i rebuilt yhe 71 motor about 10 years ago,.had rebuilt a set of heads that turned out to 72. when i finally got to the point of cranking the engine it started fine and sounded good but for some reason i pulled the dip stick out to check the oil and found the oil had water in it. how depressing that was. but thats how we learn sometimes. thanks for the info jim. i can rest easy now, and continue with the rebuiled.:grin:
