I bought a headliner for my GS from Year One and it rolled up in a box (thats fine) but they folded in half before they rolled it up :af: !!! It now has major kinks and folds that will not come out :af: !!! I talked to Year One before it was sent and said they have a way of senting this with out a problem  . If they used a box a little wider and just rolled it up (front to back) with out folding it in half this would not be a problem. AL.

    Hi Al,
Did you try to see if it fits? I too bought there headliner and it does not seem to fit very well, it is baggy between the bows, no matter which way you move it, like a bad sew job. When they shipped mine it was in a large box with the side panels and other parts.
Have you tried to iron it from the back to get the folds out?
    Good luck,
    Chip

Chip, no I have not tried ironing it yet. As far as the baggy problem, this part don't look to bad but I will let the installer advise me on this. I want no part of installing this, AL.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

    Al,
I have watched my former upholstery guy do several old headliners. I just did one myself. I noticed the headliners he got always had wrinkles, creases, folds, etc in them. He got done and I am thinking to myself, well, hmmmm, that looks bad. He looks at me and tells me to watch this!
He gets out a steamer, get them at Home Depot for $40-50, and VOILA, he irons/steams out all the wrinkles, creases, folds etc. Just like ironing a shirt!

George, I really enjoy the mechanical part of a restoration, but the rest I don't care for, Thanks AL.

You said that you got the headliner from YO. They source from Legendary, I got one from Legendary and had the same problem. After sending back 2 of them, I found out that they had sent out a '66-'67 Chevelle unit. No way to fit it in my '69. Turned out that the folks that were sewing the material had been "confused" and sent a large number of them out. Might be the same problem. Al at Legenary was great, paid for the shipping both times, and got me the correct part.
