Need a little help for my 72 'lark. Currently, my driver side hi & lo beams come on very dim, Pass side seems fine, but noticed the hi beam stays on dimly when lo beams are on. I can definitely tell someone has jacked with the wiring based on the amount of electrical tape found. Can anyone tell me what color wires go where? A good resource for at least a partial wiring diagram?

You have several options here...one is to check your grounds, that will be part of the problem for sure. If harness is really screwed up you can by a new one, buy a used one or repair the one you have. Don't hack it together too bad or you will have more problems down the road.

Fire me an e-mail at ritc1@shaw.ca and I can get a wiring diagram scan for you from my service manual. Not sure how well it will turn out but lets give it a shot anyway...

If that one isn't enough, I have really good scan of complete front harness....but its too big to attach here...

Thansk for the pics and scans...a good place to start for sure. It never ceases to amaze why someone has to hack into this, when they could've just pulled it out at the junction...

I did a complete wiring harness replacement this year. All of a sudden the motor ran better, I could see at night, the taillights were brighter and the heater blower worked. At some point the old harness does not cut it anymore and it is best to just replace it.
