I need some help adjusting my headlights. Since putting the front end of my car back together I wondered if anyone knows the best way to adjust the headlights? Is there a way to mark a spot on my garage door and aim the beams at those spots? If so what are the measurements?

I adjusted them real fast for one night out, but I want to get it correct.

    Thanks,

Set your correct tire pressure, and then park the car on a flat surface facing a wall, parking 25 feet away. Measure from the ground to the center of each headlamp and mark this spot on the wall. Measure the distance between the headlamps and mark this on the wall. Turn the lamps on. Center the high beam on the mark on the wall. Stand behind the car and make sure the beam is parallel to the direction of travel of the car. Check your adjustment by switching to low beam. The low beam horizontal cut-off should fall about three inches at 25 ft. below your mark on the wall for the center of the headlamps.

Also, here is a link to Daniel Stern Lighting which will take you to his aiming instruction page... http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html

Thanks Brad, that is exactly what I was looking for. That should help quite a bit.

Nick...No, not yet. I got the carb in and adjusted the timing a bit. Just when I started so did the rain! :ball:

The streets never dried up. Hard to do WOT tests on wet pavement. Maybe this evening if it stays dry. :TU:

    Will let you know,
