    Hi,
Maybe this question has been discussed before, but what headers are possible to use in 1976 Buick Electra with 455-engine?

    Thanks,
    Ivar

From what I read in the descriptions, many of those headers fit the 71-76 Electra. Beyond that, I can't help you. You can call TA Performance and ask, or you can wait until someone with an Electra sees this thread and posts with their own experiences. You can also ask in the big car Forum, "Boatload of Fun". You might get a quicker response that way.

I know that TA Performance sell headers (http://www.taperformance.com/products.asp?cat=387), but has anyone here bought from them?

But do they fit? And how well do they fit / how much do I have to modify, and what?

Or some other headers from somewhere else?

    Many thanks,

    Ivar

Unless you are building a hot 455 for this car, I would not waste my money for so little gain--especially considering the headaches associated with headers.

I was going to ask what have you done to the motor so far to justify headers. If it is still stock, forget the headers and purchase a set of heads that are 1974 or older. 75 - 76 heads are considered junk in terms of ability to be upgraded.

Used TA Shorties on my Trishield-built aluminum headed Stage one build; went into my '75 Electra like a charm; then transplanted equally easily to my '71 LeSabre.

I ran a 73 Lesabre years ago with MT Super Scavengers and they fit in just fine. No mods at all. As a matter of fact, I have those very headers for sale. If your interested drop me a PM.

These frames are the same. So they will bolt right into ur car. They are the chrome ones. Old but still great headers!!!!!

The only issues with full length headers on a 71-76 B/C/E body are the transmission crossmember and sometimes the frame stiffener braces. I've had to slightly relocate the stiffener braces in the case of both of my 76 LeSabres. And I ran the tubular Pontiac 71-74 double hump crossmember backwards with the trans mounting tab re-angled and pointing towards the front instead of the rear. The 75-76 single hump crossmember is an immediate no go. Deal with these two things then there is tons of room.
