just pulled the heads of the 76 455 i bought.the head gasket stayed stuck to the block.what was weird was at the water jacket locations there was only like a 1/8 hole in the gasket at the water jacket locations.should this have been trimmed out or whats the deal?

I never trim them. Have been told that it would allow too much liquid flow if you do it. Is strange though.

It is a passage that is part of the casting process, the little hole is just to keep air pockets from foming, or soming close to what i just said. All i know is they are sospose to be there.
