I know this is probably a stupid question, but what is the difference in raised intake ports vs. non raised. I know that they will flow better but are there any other distinct advantages? I am looking at TA street eliminator vs. track eliminator's.

    thanks

The track eliminator is a raised intake port for some better flow, they require a raised port intake as well. There is only one intake available for them, whereas with the street eliminator, you could theoretically use any of the manifolds out there including a stock one, only Lord only knows why you would want to do that. Which intake would you have to use? Is it worth the extra hassle? Can you use the same headers?

I currently have the edelbrock intake so i should probably upgrade anyway.

    thanks

    Stage-1 or Stage-2 TE?

The Stage-1 and Stage-2 TE require different headers from each other. The Factory Stage-1, Stage-1 SE and TE can use the same headers, while the Stage-2 SE and TE can use the same headers.

If your dumping your intake and heads, I wouldn't let my headers control the rest of my combo unless they're kinda new and in real good shape. I would think that the biggest bang for the buck (as far as heads go) is the Stage-2 TE.

Use the SP2 High Port version of this manifold with the track eliminator heads...

What size Stg1 headers do you have? If your not reusing anything off your current combo, I'd go with the TE Stg 2's with 11/32 stem valves. Some people don't think about the valve stem size until they got them sitting on there bench ready to go together. I think they will sell you the 3/8 unless you specify which is ok if your reusing old parts.

I have a set of Poston's headers. They are the 1 7/8 primarys. I bought the chromed headers and if i have anything bad to say about poston it is the finish on these headers. the car has never seen rain and in spots are starting to rust :af:

The key to new headers is that they have to fit into an 83 regal.

    Thanks

If your looking for for over 575hp, I would say you need 2". 2 1/8 when you approach the 700hp range or if you go a power adder route.

Scroll down on the main page to the "Regals with extra cylinders" forum and ask some of those guys.

The "Regals" section is basically my second home. So far to my knowledge without major mods these are the largest headers i can fit. I will run it by and see if anyone has ran larger.

    thanks
