I have the heads off my 350 and will be at the machine shop Monday. I cannot remember if I any lubricant on the thread the previous time I installed the heads after replacing the head gaskets. I purchased the bolts fro T/A Performance and they were packaged ARP bolts. I do not remember using any lubricant on the threads?
    Yes or No??

The bolts Come with ARP lube in a small packet and that's what I use. You can get a jar with the brush top from any speed shop if you don't have any.

Yes, the threads and the bolt head where it contacts the head need to be lubed in order to get an accurate torque reading

Service manual indicates to use thread sealant as the lube.

In the past, I have just dipped them in oil.

Me too - except for aluminum engine blocks where I use anti-seize.

I just found a tube of ARP ultra-Torque. I am in business now.

Don't forget that when using ARP's Ultra-Torque lube, the torque numbers required will be lower due to less friction. If I remember, right their website has/had torque tables for different fasters when using their Ultra-Torque lube.

    Found it: https://arpinstructions.com/generaltorque.html
