I see they offer insurance for racecars now and cover most of the costs like in the trailer,at the track,on the road if it's able to be driven legally etc.. I have $22,000 on my car currently and the yearly coverage is $359. I did a quote on my car with a $30,000 amount and it's $255. I'll be contacting them to talk about it. My car will see very minimal street mileage,if ever any,so I thought I'd give them a talk and see what's up. https://www.hagerty.com/insurance/motorsports-insurance
If it's mostly a track car give Bill Horton a call for drag racers insurance. We have 30k on car(needs to be more now that it's closer to being finished) 25k on the trailer if I recall, 5k on golf cart and some coverage for spare parts, extra tires etc. Annual premium is around $750. This covers the car 100% of the time that it isn't making a pass. As you know you will not get coverage during the pass unless you pay astronomical rates. Ours is even covered in the staging lanes. Just not during the pass.
Heard about the hagerty coverage and contacted my Heacock classic agent to see if they offer the same coverage. They do and with the same exclusions. No coverage while making a pass once its off the track its covered.
