A couple of folks have run Buicks here and there, mostly in older jetboats or v-drives. Never seen one bolted up to an I/O though. You need a good solid 800-900 horsepower to run big numbers on the lake. The Buick can make it, but I don't know about the longevity. o No: You are right about the sound of open exhaust on the water :TU: Get a nice open stretch and put it to the wood. My rich single uncle had a few twin 455 Buick boats back in the day. He was always 1st 2nd fastest on Lak Erie. He now is much older and owns 3 marinas on the Maumee River downtown Toledo. I remember 1 boat he got. It was like 1 of 7. It was actually the owners boat he got but he made him cough it up. It had dual Buicks. Did 77 on its first day out even before paint. 15-20 years ago. I was much younder then but allways question why they didn't use dual HEMI's I understand now.
