I have two GM clips that are listed as being used on all '68 V8's and I guess they go somewhere on the valve cover stud to hold the wire harness?:Do No: My assembly book says that you use 3 per car. Has anyone ever seen these on a car before and do they still make them?

    Henry,

Thats the same info that I have. I would like to find one more to use on my car (I have 2). They are quite fragile so I don't think I would have much luck at a scrap yard. I know they are really not necessary but why not use them if I have them...

How in the world can you figure out what exactly those go on? Do youhave a program, or a "bible" that list every part number and by make and model?

I have a '68 parts book. If you have the group number and part number you can check to see where they go. There are master parts books out there that cover numerous years. Kinda like a Buick bible...

    parts books

brian parts books show up on ebay every now & then, most if not all will cover many years and models of buick. the book i like best is my dealer parts & accessories price schedule and history index. hard to find, but with that book you can search by part number. its a must have to id parts when all you have is the part number. it also tells the group & if an item fits chevy or other GM.

According to the 68 chassis and body parts book:

1968, All V-8, 1384233, Clip, Eng. Wiring Harness-Rkr Arm Cvr. To Stud (3)

I picked this one up in Carlisle a few years back for $20 - it covers all the 68 models, and they pop up on evilBay every now and then. :bglasses: :beer :TU:

Mike - The only clips I've ever seen is the plug wire type that sits on the valve cover pins.

The clips are made from plastic and look like they would snap off quite easily so I am sure there are not many left out there on many cars. I will have to check to see if there is even a spot to slide the clips on my valve cover stems..
