Hello everyone. Love this site. I have a 65 riviera with a 63 401 engine, that needs the harmonic balancer replaced. The keyway has widened and it won't stay in time. I have another one from a 59, 401, they look identical, except for where the balance holes are. Can I get away with running it?
Thanks for the advice txgwildcat. I installed the balancer yesterday, and it seems to work fine. How critical is the balance on these? Should I be trying to find one from a 63 motor? And what about hi rpm, will it make a difference?
