About to place an order for new rugs for my 71 Skylark from Year One. How difficult is this surgical process??
Its not bad at all, just use a sharp razor knife and absolutley don't cut too much off of the sides. Leave more than enough on either side and tuck it under the kick panels and the sill plates otherwise you run the risk of the carpet settling and it pulling and leaveing gaps. I hate when that happens!!! Bob
Best done on a hot day to allow the carpet to settle into place faster. Lay it out in the sun for a while before installing.
Shop all the A-body shops since they all get the carpet from 1 or 2 manufacturers. Best bet is going to be www.opgi.com or Chevelle catalog from www.nationalpartsdepot.com Also, read the article on our site about carpet fit problems.
