Aside from today being Good Friday it is the 244th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution. When a group of farmers in Lexington Mass had the brass ones to take on the most powerful army in the world. The world has never been the same. Being untrained farmers the British easily shot their way through the group of farmers even bayoneting the wounded many right in front of their families and friends right near there homes. The British then marched on to the Concord bridge in an attempt to seize the Americans ammunition. Here they met up against a larger pissed off group of Americans who got the word a fight was on and started rushing in from the surrounding towns. I did a recent family history search and found out some of my ancestors were in on the fight. The Americans beat the British bad and pushed back and ambushed them all the way back to Boston which was then surrounded by water. The British never set foot in the country side in Massachusetts again. When the Americans beat the British at Fort Ticonderoga in the winter. This was Under Henry Knox a Boston Book Seller in his twenties who learned military tactics from reading books beat the British then proceeded to drag the captured cannons through the Mountains of New York and Western Mass in the dead of winter all the way back to Boston by March is one of the most amazing feats in military history. So few are taught about this and it’s a crime. The Americans placed the cannons on a hill overlooking Boston in March 1776 and then digging in over night in an another amazing feat. The British after great weather for the Americans that night made a feeble attempt to take the hill in a driving sleet storm at the worst time for them were easily driven back. The British knew they were beaten with those cannons looking down on all of Boston set sail and never came back. Have a great one everyone.
I'm not sure what you mean. But I take it as the OG Patriots were B.A, and not to be messed with. They pulled out all the stops during a time of "formal warfare".
I too have studied this, and the above is true with the exception of the date the cannons were placed overlooking Boston. I noted the incorrect date when I reread the post this morning.
And the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City . But no media mentions it , doesn’t fit gun ban agenda .
With today's spell check and auto type most of us that grew up in NEW ENGLAND knew what you were getting at and didn't need to correct the date. I believe John C. was a teacher
You lost me here. What does this have to do with the battles in the American revolutionary war that happened in 1776?
It doesn't. I think he was saying it was also the anniversary of the Oklahoma City federal building bombing whick also happened to be on April 19th.
Don, the Media has forgotten 9/11 already, maybe if one of those people that jumped to avoid burning to death landed on them would wake them up?
If the US continues on the path it is on , there will likely be another revolution. Instead of being called Patriots this time around , we will probably be named terrorists by our power hungry politicians. Fight for your Second Ammendment Rights, we may need them....again. Jim
Dave, Thank You for the history lesson. Very interesting. Its been years since high school, but I do not recall that as being part of any reading or classroom discussion. Our local media does do 911 memorials. That said, any anniversary of an atrocity committed with a firearm is used to try to whip up their obviously biased agenda.
Smokey, come here to see the sites if you get a chance. To walk the Lexington Battle Green is something not to be missed at least once in your life. The Concord Bridge site is even better. It’s a bit more rural like it would have been then. Every April 19 they reenact the battles. It’s pretty funny to see the two actors running across the Lexington green carrying a chest. It was John Hancock and Paul Revere carrying important papers that would have implicated many people. This really happened and they stayed one step ahead of the Red Coats. Stuff like this is awesome. Love it.
