Guys I need a question answered. Will 70 GTO interior parts ie: door panels, head liner, windlace, arm rest pads fit on my 70 skylark 350 custom? Seems I can get these parts from guy I know and he seems to think these body styles should interchange. Anyone out there know for sure before I shell out some coin for this stuff.
When you say fit do you mean looks the same or can be made to fit? For example, the door panel might be the same size but would not have the same pattern. A 70 Custom would have the long (16") armrests and I am wondering if the GTO had the 12 inch. Headliners are cheap. Do not buy a used one. Most of the cost is in the installation.
Randy, Like Jim posted, everything should fit, but you will need to drill one hole in each door for the shorter armrests. The only exception may be the pinch welt around the rear window. I seem to remember the buick rear window having the longest perimeter of all A-bodies, so the GTO pinchwelt may come up a bit short. Duane
The door panels I have are shot, the bottoms are rotted out. The headliner is ripped in two places. I think maybe I will do a dry fit and see how close these pieces match. Then talk about the price. Thanks guys for putting me on the right track.
I have some 70 door panels you can have. One is fair the other is driver good. I also have the matching rears that are not bad, either, just some loose spots in the tuck and roll. My auto shop class is going to clone a 72 GSX so 70 interior is useless. Also have good back seat vinyl. This is all in black. Whattaya think? If you pay shipping it's yours. God bless
I want If no else wants those items, I would. Could you post or email some pictures? What pattern(s)? Thanks! chuck@drkstr.com
My 70 door panels were rotted and ripped at the bottom and repaired by a good upholsterer for 100 dollars, the repair was made at a horizontal seam and is completely undetectable
