http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...&rd=1&item=2483258749&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT I'm not sure if the owner is on the board...? I see it has a Skylark Grille, the stripes are incorrect, that was all I noticed at first look.
I don't think he is. This guy is a seller of pretty much anything muscle GM, he has had some decent cars listed in the past, although this is his first Buick in a while. Seems like he usually has one or two a month.
Interesting that the 70 GSX only steering wheel is missing. Missing the GSX only rocker moldings. Missing GSX headlamp covers. Skylark Grille , not GS. I would look at the car real close to see whether the rivets on the trim tag are original. What is the build date? I would have to take a close look at the GSX dash emblem. "... believe it to be matching numbers" (Well are they or not?) Does the frame number match the VIN?
Right on Jim! What's up with that cowl tag? What's the build date - can anyone (clearly) make it out?
He had a 70 GS350 a while back. I went to his place and checked it out. He's primarily a GTO guy, but has had some Buicks and other stuff. The GS350 I mentioned was pretty much as advertised as far as condition goes. If everything is legit, it's one heck of a find!
I don't know whether I want to look at this or not, but to me it looks like the cowl tag is slightly off center to the paint on the bottom right corner?
Whats up with the date code? "53" doesnt make sense. Unless its "05B". Wierd...I wonder what this X will do. Its going to take alot of money to make this one right. Too bad the GSX VINs arent listed on a web site like the 68-69 Hurst Oldsmobiles. Jason
I take it someone was selling a trim tag off a GSX? The link is invalid. Did the tag wind up on this car? Anyone remember the sequence numbers on the tag from the old auction? That could explain alot. Anyone save the pic to their hard drive? This is getting interesting! Jason
Whats up with the build date is the question? Looks like there is only two numbers/letters there? Also I am wondering about the Q-Q stamping why is it so far to the left? I am just curious? Do these codes move back and forth alot left to right when they were stamped? He is a pic of a real GSX tag i took a picture of at Yardleys picnic. The car belongs to Greg. I just saved the pic for my interest incase i ever come across a X just to compare cowl tags. Hope Greg does not mind. Just note how much this tag differs from ebay tag. Are they all different like this?
Nice work Korrie!!!:beer I knew someone had to have saved the pic. The sequence numbers are definitely different. Funny how the build date is the almost the same. I bet you that the "53" he points out in the auction is really "5B" like the ebay cowl tag. Something still doesn't sit right with me about this car. The excessive amount of black undercoating and tar like paint is a screaming red flag to me. Looks like somebody is trying to hide something when I see that. Jason
Funny, that was kind of the question I was asking you when I emailed it to you this morning.... You mean you aren't even a little bit interested? It is out of my league, that is for sure. I will see if Ken B. wants to go and look at it.
It's out in the eastern Renton area. Go past the cemetary where Jimi Hendrix is buried and keep heading east. It goes way back there about another 6 or 7 miles.
Hummm Strange there is NO "0" before the "5"! uzzled: I assume the "3" is really a "B". o No: Mistakes from the factory did happen sometimes???? I though Duane could tell by the vin and/or sequence # & build date if it was a true "X"? Still, looks in good shape, but I hate the wheels & those bad stripes.ou: ou:
