Gs nationals racing on Friday

So the weather here is changing. They announced qualifying on Thursday, race on 1pm on Friday. Saturday is a washout!!

 

A Friend of mine is bringing a Skylark wagon with a Turbo 3.8. Tan

Seems like Sunday would be the better day for racing....0% chance of rain.........according to my forecast

 

Rained out. Heading home in the morning.

 

Unfortunately Sunday is the track’s normal race day for points racers, so not an option for the GS Nats to have that day as a rain makeup.

No. Just about time to start eliminations, the rain began.

They did. Will be in May next year.

 

I think I was the last one to run. It began to sprinkle on my windshield as I rolled into burn out box. They shut it down after my run.

 

Yup.called us SS16 racers into line up and the skies opened .

First I had heard of this John, I was thinking on Thursday Morning when it was 37* out.. I sure miss those early May dates.

Good to hear they are going back.. I always liked the GS nats for the "Kick off" of the summer racing season for us Northerners.. and the big plus is that most everyone's stuff is fresh..

Any more info on dates?

 

You mean May when it rained all the time? It was moved because people were sick of the rainouts in May.

Thanks for posting that Jim. People that have been going down there forever know the deal. Lots of rain in May.

 

Anyone remember getting thier car destroyed by hail? Or how about the tower being under water? Good thing there are no vendors anymore because that area is usually a mudslide. Really liked the fall event.
