I recently purchase a GS hood for my 72 Skylark Sun Coupe. The hood came off a 70-72 GS and didn't have the scoop parts or the leading edge part. Two questions:

    1. I'm running a K&N open air filter so I don't need all of the hood scoop snorkel parts. I know I'll need the screens to cover the scoop holes, but what about the other two parts under them?

    2. The front leading edge strip off my 72 hood doesn't fit on the new hood. Did the GS hoods have a different strip?

    Thanks,

You'll need the scoops and the grills but not the under hood plates that seal to the GS air cleaner. Hood trim won't fit? thats kinda odd, should bolt right up. Are the studs spaced differently or :Do No:

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

If the car had a front end collision, most likely body shop fixed it and did not check the fit of the lip. Sounds like you need to have the hood reworked.

I rechecked the front strip alignment and it appears a couple of the studs are slightly bent. The body shop should be able to rework that. Thank you for the feedback.:)
