hey guys been gone a while but finally getting to finish the wildcat. Can anyone tell me where all my grounding point are? It's been a few years I've had the motor out. It's a 64 wildcat so should be same as riv or Electra I guess. Are there two straps on the back of the engine? And if so do they go to frame or body? Where els on the car was a ground? Had the body off too so need to know where those were too?

    Thanks
    John

I've got a 64 Riviera and the motor is grounded to the body on the firewall. One is on a bracket (driver side) and the other direct to the body (passenger).

There are two grounding straps on the rear of the engine going to the firewall. The grounding straps go over the accessory bolt on the rear of the head & are held on with two 11/16ths. nuts. The other ground from the battery goes to the PS pump Closest to the valve cover & the lead off the grounding cable goes to the bottom voltage regulator hold-down bolt.

I have a 64 Wildcat and there's also a ground strap from the radio antenna to the firewall.

...and you definitely want those ground straps in place. I recall an old Chevy that was towed into our shop with a frozen gas pedal. It turned out that the ground straps had broken (many old Chevys had motor mount issues). The only way the starter could find a ground was through the throttle gable which welded itself to it's casing.
