Hi everyone! My name is Chris and I own a 1971 Buick Skylark 2 door coupe. I was at a cruise night yesterday at Bald Hill on Long Island and was told about this website/chat group by another member. I'm looking forward to the discussions here and hopefully finding new parts and info. V8Sky
Photo of my 71 Skylark Attached should be a photo of my 1971 Skylark. It features the 350 / 2 barrel automatic transmission and has 45,000 original miles. The color is burnished cinamon and the interior is two-tone sandlewood bench (with optional fold down armrest) and headliner and tan dashboard and carpet. I am the second owner and have the protecto plate from the original owner. The car is basically all stock with the exception of 2.5 inch dual flowmasters. Just last month my car was featued in the "In The Garage" column of Newsday. Chris

BPG? I forgot to ask, what's the BPG? I am a member of the BCA and have to rejoin my local Long Island Buick Club but I'm not familiar with BPG. Chris
Wow Chris, that thing is killer lookin. Glad you found us here >>Hi Chris. Thanks for the compliment on my car. You have a quite impressive collection there! I hope to one day purchase a GS (preferably 70-72). However, as my wife and I are planning on starting a family I'm sure that GS I want is WAY off in the future. Chris
Re: BPG? BPG= Buick Performance Group Jim Weise and the core group that founded the BPG started this V8 Buick Board. Click at the top of this page when the BPG Salem event rolls around. It is set for August of this year.
Hey Chris. Welcome! .....but don't necessarily wait. Once the kids come, your GS will be farther off than you think! ou: :beer By the way, that car is sweet looking. You don't see that color often.
Great car, Chris. I'm familiar w/Bald Hill, moved from Centereach 14 years ago. How's the Vietnam Memorial these days?

The only reason I have the 71 Skylark is that I bought it before I got married! It was a celebration gift to myself when I started my teaching career six years ago. My wife likes classic cars but is more into Chevelles and Pontiac Trans Ams. She used to have a 95 Z28 until she wrapped it around a pole - now she drives a Toyota Camry ;-) Chris

The Vietnam Memorial is a happening place for cruising! There were at least 200 cars/bikes there on Tuesday and the weather wasn't great. I've been there on Tuesday night cruises when there were at least 400 cars/bikes there. Are you still on Long Island now? At the cruise night there was also a 70 GS, 67 GS convertible, and 68 Skylark convertible. Chris

Hello Chris and welcome aboard! You are gonna love it here. I'm in W. Babylon, what part of the Island are you from?? I've got a 70 Skylark that I bought 13 years ago from the original owner, with 42,000 miles. It's been thru a few changes over the years. If I can assist you in any way don't be afraid to give me a holler:TU: PS Nice Skylark:TU: :bglasses:
Welcome Chris! That is one nice looking Buick you have there. Consider joining the N.E. GS/GN Club here: http://www.ne-gsca.com/ We have a great group of guys from the tri state area, and some of the fastest Buicks in the country. I was actually going to make the trip to Bald Hill last night, but it is a long ride in rush hour traffic,(from Queens) in the world biggest parking lot, the L.I.E. Plus there was thunderstorms in the forcast. Were there alot of Buicks there? I'll try and get out there one Tuesday.
