First off you'll have to forgive me for not posting this sooner as I've been out of the country the last month,

Sloan's has been a hugs help seeing as I had no original documentation for the car except the VIN and cowl tag. Sloan's tell's me everything I've decoded me self is accurate (see this post ) and also that the original owner ordered the Deluxe steering wheel :TU: and the posi rear end that was a part of the Stage 1 package :Brow:.

My question now is, how do I properly ID the rear-end? I'm also starting to wonder about the transmission. I'll post about that when I get a chance to take a closer look.

    Ralph,
The transmission ID code hould be stamped into the 1-2 accumuator cover on the passenger side of the trans(THM-350). Should be JR, along with shift and date codes, according to my 70 Chassis manual. The VIN # should be stamped into the drivers side of the case near the manual shaft.
For the axle code look on the bottom of the drivers side axle tube. 2 letters along with a date code will tell you which axle you have and whether it is posi or not. Best of luck.

Alrighty, thanks. I'll have to check that out when I get a chance. I hope at least the transmission is correct.
