This guy is a real work of art. Got me for a $400 deposit and never responds to my e-mails. Anyone know anything about him. Friends have told me I can turn him in for internet fraud. Do I contact the TX authorities to start this going. I have been ripped off 2 times now trying to buy a rad core support for a 72 lark . . . . . this is the last time. I have to get this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is a site member and goes by the name toejoe. Also, for anyone who wants to know, enter keywords "internet fraud" in most any search engine and it pulls up a bunch of really interesting sites (who knows if they would really work though).
Time to light the torches and go on a hunt! Seriously,have you reported him to the moderators? In my opinion this kind of thing has to be stopped.It has been getting a lot more common lately.I enjoy this site very much and I try to help others out as much as possible but even I have been ripped off from fellow members.I would feel so guilty if I screwed someone.I think we have to figure out some way to let others know who's the bad eggs.It will be tough,but maybe we need someone to be mediators in cases where people have been stiffed out of parts so they can hear both sides of the story.If people want to sell here and there is some disagreement they will have to give their side of the story and the reasoning as to why they did what they did.Same as the buyer.I feel that Jim W has enough on his plate that he shouldn't have to be bothered with such things.But he is the the one that makes the decisions as to the rules we have.It is too bad that things like this have to happen to a bunch of guys with the same inrterests.I only hope that the problems can be resolved easily and quickly. There's not much the moderators can do directly to remedy the situation when there is a problem like this. These guys typically don't respond to our emails/PM's either. We can ban them from the site, but that's about the limit of what we can do. My guess is these guys don't bother to ever come back here after taking someone for a ride.

Adam, I've looked into this recently for Jeff too. "Joe" hasn't posted on the board for several months. I emailed him some time ago, and got no reply. Jeff, I've just tried to send him another email, and will let you know if any reply comes back. At some point we can ban him from the board, but allowing him access for now could help in contacting him yet.

It does seem an odd deal, considering how much detail the seller has in his profile. Even the city/state info and birthday, occupational info... then again that could all be bogus too. o No:
toejoe update I found and old phone number for him and called it. To my suprise he actually answered. Said he has had some financila setbacks and will send out my parts. I told him if he did, it would sure restore my faith in "on line" purchasing. We will see . . . . PS He was supposed to have the rad core stripped and powder coated to bring to near mint condition. Said he still has not had that doen, found rot at battery side support that was not there before. Told him to just get it sent the way it is and I'll find someone on the board to do repairs (at least I will have the part I have been waiting for since April 22, 2003). I don't "know" Joe, but we tried very hard to buy his 70GS350 back when we were "on the hunt" for Mel's first GS. It took like a week every time to get a response to an email from him, and took several weeks to get pictures. He explained that he wasn't very "internet savy" and was also going through some health issues back then (4 months ago?) I'm sure we would have bought his car if we wouldn't have been so "strung out" from all the suspense and delays of trying to find out more about it. His price was in our budget and the car was pretty solid. So I'm not making excuses for him.... I'm just telling you our experience with him. After about 6 weeks, we just gave up. I never even bickered with his price. We were going to give him what he wanted. o No:
Joe Helsley (ToeJoe) Update Afetr speaking with Joe Hellsey on the phone and his explaining he had some setbacks, but would send on my rad core support, I thought I saw "light" at the end of the tunnel. NOT SO. I still have not received the ra core or my $400 and he no longer accpets my calls (probably sees my # on caller ID). Anyone want to give him a call for me ad see what his story is? His cell number is 214-542-7726. The rad core support is the final part I need to re-assemble our 72 lar convt after 4 years.
