When I purchsed my 70 GS, there was some question as to its "Stage 1" status. I bought it thinking it was a GS 455 that someone put the emblems on. Well, I finally got the Wayne Roberts paperwork today in the mail. Guess what? It's a real Stage 1!!! WOO HOO!!! Some of the other interesting things I found out was that the original dealer was Selover Buick in Billings Montana. I bought the car from Colorado, but I was told it came from Wyoming originally. Invoice was $3855.51. This really answered some important questions. Sorry about the fuzzy pic. I have to update my signature now!

Jase, be sure to register it in the Stage1 registry.

Wayne Roberts had the info for my 70. He has one roll of Microfiche, the Sloan museum has the other. For 1970, it depends on the last 6 digits of your VIN. Anything over 193560, built in Flint, and 1970, Wayne has.

The Sloan museum has 1972 Microfiche, don't know about other years. Buick records are hard to come by. Then I believe there was a fire that destroyed some of them. :Do No:

Can you post the dealer name and code? Your photo is a little fuzzy.

Waynes address is : 5721 Livernois Rd, Troy, Mi, 48098. His number is on Marco's website. He's got the info from Dec 1969 and on for the 1970 model year. I would call first if your car is near the cutoff month. He charges 50.00 and can take several months to arrive. Just be patient. I was waiting since January myself. All I can say is that it was well worth the wait!

Jake, thats so cool your grandfather used to work at Selover Buick. Imagine working in a Buick dealership in the sixties? Seeing all the shiny new cars coming in. Im sure he must have shared some interesting stories with you. As far as selling it...Im pretty attached to it right now, but if it ever does, my V8 buddies will have first crack!
