"There's also the added benefit of less reciprocal weight to spin," Gary, if you have "reciprocal weight" to spin in a rear end I think that rear end is already toast :laugh:. Sorry Gary, I know you meant "rotating weight" just couldn't let that slip go by!
I saw that after I did it then thought, nah I won't edit it, I'll see if anyone catches it. Kudos to you! Glad others here have a good sense of humor too. :TU: Gary
Thanks gary. I went to shop today and engine is in car. Engine compression was not Checked so I'm just gonna go with what I got and let Em finish it up. I mentioned that based of off parts I thought my compression might be too low. Around 8.0:1. He said it is definitely not that low. Probably 9. So we will see this friday! Thanks again I'm printing this post for future reference. -Adrian
The 212 cam will work fine even with low compression, I would not worry about that as it is a street car not a track car.
Sean is correct. It will run ok even with low comp, it just won't have the get up and go that it would with higher compression, but this kinda goes without saying. I think your combination will be fine with what you intend to use it for. Nice thing about the TA 212-350 cam is that it's very versatile. Gary
its all complete! tons of fun to be had now in my old regal! thanks for helping me out from the beginning! so i am not sure of HP but its plenty whatever it is, i was having problems spinning my 14" roller wheels driving home from muffler shop. it really came out well and sounds like a beast, and as far as i am concerned performs like a beast! thanks to you and everyone else! -Adrian
Great news!! make some video!! I always thought my low comp engine with 212 sounded great and ran great on low grade fuel!
Gary, I would appreciate your "recipe" on the 7.5" rear end...I would like positraction and gears for a daily driver...and input is appreciated!
