Went to cecil county dragway in maryland for friday night street races. Temp was around 90 and humid was around 90. The wagon wasn't up to its best, but on the second run , I'm paired up with a lime green "Hemi Cuda" street driver with slicks. It made me feel really great with atleast 10 car length at the finish line 10.55 @128 to his 11.97@ 114. I did loose to a tubbed Vega wagon big block10.54 to his 10.32 . Bill "SPORTWAGON FROM HELL"
Awesome! Great kill Bill...I have to get to Cecil County soon. Did the Vega happen to be orange in color with a bugcatcher on a blower sticking through the hood? Next time you are heading up, give me a shout, I can probably meet you there.
Well, I think my hemi killing days are over for the year and maybe next . Went to Etown the weekend and the "SPORTWAGON FROM HELL" did some GREAT numbers , 10.31, 10.35. In the Q-16 , got the first round on a red light and coasted thru at 10.52. Second round, cut a good light, pulling hard on a 12.00 car and at the 1000' mark, the engine cut lose "BIG TIME". The left front of the block in cracked along with many small holes in the pan, coasted thru at 10.98. We pulled the wagon in the trailor and I will survey the damage this week, the stage 2 heads may be toast!. May have a Real nice 68 sportwagon race roller for sale, 3355lbs without driver. Stay tuned Bill "DEAD SPORTWAGON FROM HELL" I
Bill, I'm in the same boat. The Ratroaster has a very bad rod knock. Of course it ain't a 10 second sport wagon from hell, but it still sucks to start over. Hopefully its not as bad as it seems when we tear the motor apart. Keep the faith
