I had a blowout in the GS last week - front right tire - while doing 65 on the highway ou: No damage..... Need to replace the tires though and was wondering if anyone has some good suggestions other than the typical BFG Comp TA's.... Im talking about street / highway tires. Im running 245/60/15 up front and 275/60/15 out back. Cooper ?? Yoko's ??
I've heard really good things about Goodyear's line of F1 tires. There are several different variations of the F1 line, so you'd have to check with them which one is best. Here's a website that describes the different ones: http://www.1010tires.com/Goodyear_tires.html
Yea the Firestone Firehawks. They are very reasonably priced and get excellent reviews. Check out the ratings and the reviews at www.tirerack.com Plus you won't see thirty sets of them at the local car show and they don't say mastercraft or generic extra cheap or anything. I wanted to get a 130mph HR rated tire but the only thing available was an expensive Mich tire.
I use Michelins on both of my family vehicles. Touring style on the mini and LT's on my Superduty. I love em at any price.
Just put some Yokohama Avid S/T's 235/70-15 on my Riv about 3,000 miles ago and really liked how they did in the downpours we had recently both locally and on highway. Mavis did them for $72.00 each complete. Pretty cheap for a daily driver tire that grips good wet and dry. Gonna see how they do in snow before I run and buy some snow tires. Gonna check sizes to put on my son's Lark I like them so much.
