    NJBuickRacer I'd rather be racing...

I just got offered a complete running '70 455 with all accessories and brackets, 400 trans, 3500 stall TC(new in box) and a GS hood for $950. Everything is out of a '70 GS that had frame rot. The rest of the car is gone, before anyone asks. I've known this guy as an aquaintance for years, and knew about this stuff hiding in his garage, so it's known to be ok. I even remember the car that everything came out of. Sound like a good deal, or should I pass?

    Thanks,
    Artie

Yes, that seems to be an excellent deal. The hood alone, if in good shape, is worth at least 1/3 of the asking price.

    I say go for it!

I'm just worried that if I have the hood, I'll pick up a car just so I have something to put it on :spank: The drivetrain would be for my 66 GS, I think, unless I feel bad about pulling the Nailhead and find a '70 to '72 to use for my racing purposes. I recently had 3 Buicks total in the "collection" so I'm trying not to buy any more for now. These cars just get addictive...

sell the hood, and use the $ for parts for the conversion. :TU:

    Sounds like rip off!

A shame that this so called friend would try to do that to you!

Steer clear of him, but give me his contact information so I can call him and give him a piece of my mind.

    Naw, I can't do it.

Buy it all, sell the hood and put the drive train in your '66.

Great find! .....and your taste in friends seems good as well. Go get it.
