Yesterday was our local monthly Car Club Bash. Steve Daniel (deweylittle) made it to the quarter finals in his 68 GS400, and I made it to the finals, only to break out, 9.15 on a 9.16 dial (1/8th mi.). I also ran the Presiden't Race representing our club. Made it to the finals again, only to break out again. I've been racing at this track for almost two years now, and gradually becoming more competitive. It was great how much support I got from the Brand X racers (mostly Ford folks), thumbs ups and congradulations left and right. It was such a great feeling I had to come here and share. :3gears: , then :beer
I like some good racing! Plus its only better when your out racing amongst a good group like you were. I've found the Ford racers to be very agreeable folks. There are way more aftermarket parts for Fords than Buick, but they seem to face the same battles we do as far as less popularity, etc. :3gears:
Congratulations Nicholas and Steve! Boy do I miss a good bracket race! I've done a handful of races the last couple of years in my Ranger, but I don't have confidence in its ability to be consisitent. I'm already starting the race with a mental disadvantage. When I was in my GS455, I could tell you that I'll beat you and be pretty confident that I could. Car clubs are great for racing. For the last several years I've raced in a Car Club Challenge series. Rick Henderson and John Biggs have made a few races for the team too. Since there isn't a very big Buick contingent, it was an F-body club that we raced for (which has since dropped the F-body part of the name). It's cool finishing a race and knowing your team was cheering for you! There's nothing better than racing with friends.
