I'm starting to see ALOT of people calling cars & parts good condition when they are clearly total crap!!! Sellers must be wearing someone elses glasses these days:bglasses: Check this out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/63-6...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
At least he has a picture that clearly shows the condition. I bought a set of supposedly "NOS" headlight bezels off Ebay that were pitted. the seller claimed they were in excellent condition and the picture was taken in a way that didnt show the pitting. The only thing I could do was give him a scathing negative feedback.
Geeze, they're horrible!:spank: Another overused term is 'driver quality'.... another way of saying 'they're junk but might hold together for another year'.ou:
You know you are in trouble when he states "all sales final, no returns". In the midwest, when you see a listing that says "rust free", it really means that they don't charge any extra for the rust!
Well, that's his opinion on the condition. Of course, opinion are like butt holes. Everyone's got one, and it usually stinks!
I bought a door lock knob for my Willys that stated there was a small crack, the the only photo provided didnt show it. When I received it, there was a chunk missing about the size of a BB. That may not sound too bad, but we're talking about a lock knob on the inside of a door. The whole knob was smaller than a dime. I complained and he gave me a refund including shipping. Another red flag to me is "just needs a good cleaning" or "buyer's responsibility to verify fitment" after stating "not sure what it goes to or came from, I'm not an expert" and the photo is out of focus and 10 feet away. Same problem on Craigslist, except usually you are close enough to see it first.
I am the person selling them emblems. I first would like to say that I am trying to be as fair as possible with my pricing. I am been lower in price then every other ebay seller out there that I have found. If you would like to discuss further please message me directly. Also I think that good condition is different for each person. I never said that these were perfect or NOS. I even go as far to offer more pictures and closer up picture if you would like before bidding. I feel what I have posted is very fair. Thank you for your concerns and I have put the word "fair" and also stated there are some minor pits in them. Also as far as I know no one makes these any more and everyone is always trying get that better piece. James
I do not ship international since for a flat rat USPS box the price goes up 3 to 4 times more then shipping in the USA. Also I make all sales are final etc so that people do not try and abuse the system by saying that it does not work or it is broken when the item actually is not. Thanks again for your concern. James
I have to side with the seller, even if he hadn't posted here. These are better than nothing, and someone may have to have them for thirty five bucks. My other favorite is "I'll leave cleaning up to the buyer." That usually means the dirt is holding the item together. Sellers should want their stuff to look its best before taking pictures.
I'm just wondering what shape the other ones are that these are better. Hey I guess a step up is a step up!:TU: :beer
Have you ever seen the system they use for grading coins? "Good" is almost at the bottom of the scale and includes "heavily worn" in the description... http://coins.about.com/od/coingrading/f/sheldon_scale.htm
That was my thought when I first saw his auction the other day.... 'He must be a coin collector'. Car parts aren't coins though and I think that most people think of 'good' as the better side of average... or better. And that's why we have pictures. :kodak: .
Sorry but no way in hell will those pits buff outp And those are major, not minor pits. It is nice the seller has a good picture so we can make our own quality call.
