    72gsBuick Never Say Never..

Well, finally got a rest from work, and i now have time to put my other engine in my car, as you know my little brother will be putting my 73 455 into his 69 chevelle:Brow: and i will be putting inn a 71 455 .30 over with trw high comp. forged pistons, ta 113 cam degreed, studed bottom end, arp rod bolts. i will be keeping the kenne bell headers, edelbrock performer intake or b4b, quickfuel 780 vac. advance carb, kenne bell adjustable roller rockers, 3/8 pushrods. im pretty sure im missing a couple things, but here are my questions, im trying to figure out what the height of the deck is cause i know it was decked, im trying to achieve a true 10.5 compression ratio or so make more power, i have a set of 71 455 heads with stage 1 valves, i will be getting the valve releifs on the heads cut since they were not done the first time, also i will be porting them as much i as can with regular garage tools, just a quick clean up , nothing too fancy. am i missing anything thats important that i should do while the engine is on the stand, i want this to be a tough 455 as this might be the last time i put another engine inn for a while. i know there are little tips and tricks to getting a 11 or 12 second 455 in a full weight skylark so any help would be great. my main concern is measuring the deck height as i want to make sure i get the most compression as possible. also any info on the ta 113 would be great.
