Got a call from Richie Stevens this evening to let me know that we're going Pro Stock'n again. :3gears: They've put together a two car team with Don Schumacher. Also, Ron Capps is another addition to the Schu' F/C camp. The only draw back is that now Richie will be driving a Stratus bodied Dodge. From what I understand, they're getting two cars and so will his team mate. Richie will bring his own sponsor (Valspar) and his team mate has his own sponsor. NHRA will make the announcement Saturday. Crew chief will be Bob Glidden.

Hint: The other driver was world champ 2x.

Jeg Coughlin......................... :Brow: . Next question , lol.

Personally looking forward to the "Schools out" tour. Hope the Professor gets to go out in style. In my opinion, he's one of that last working racers out there. I'll like seeing Glidden again, just wish it was with Geoffrion and the Ford. And, it's looking to me like Mopar is back with a vengance in P/S. Morgans program is smokinnnnnnnnnnnnnnn'.

    Later........

I think it would be nice to see an '05 Mustang P/S with Glidden wrenching. If Ford would only wake up and realize that they have the only muscle car left to make a P/S out of. Richie had a chance to drive a Dodge when David Nickens had the Dodge camp, but passed. This time I think there's a little better backing and support with Don Schumacher.

It's probably because he has a Buick guy helping with his engine program!!

Jason Line did a great job at Joe Gibbs then left to work with Greg last year. Hmmm, what have Bobby and Tony done this year in NASCAR?? Not much!

What has Greg done since Jason came on board??

BTW, small world story, I graduated from high school with Greg.

    Ken,

Was Greg a geeky gear head back in high school? What was he like?

That was a great opportunity for Jason Line to work and drive with Greg.... but.......Its to bad in a way, before Gregs offer came along the word was that there was going to be a 2 car Buick team racing IHRA Top Stock. I would have liked to see him kicking but in a Buick....... :TU:

His dad bracket-raced a '67 or so Barracuda, so he was exposed to racing early. I don't really remember him wrenching on cars or street racing, though there were a couple different groups of kids depending on which middle school you were from. We went to different middle schools, so we hung out with different kids. I guess he was OK, can't say we were good friends or anything like that. Without trying to sound too negative, there may have been a slight "I'm better than most" attitude. Buy hey, he's dang sure a better drag racer than me now!

My dad is still good friends with his dad, I even got to tag along to one of the races at the old Minnesota Dragways in the mid 70s with his dad. His dad had made some good contacts back then at the track with some of the bigger name racers which I'm sure helped Greg. He started working with John Hagen, a MN racer right after high school. Did real well there and then got the job with Warren Johnson. The rest is in the history books!
