I have the oppurtunity to obtain a GM parts microfiche set (no viewer) and was wondering if they could be used to benefit the BPG in any fashion.

This is what you dealer parts guys were using before computers. Lots of info, parts numbers, illustrations.

I browsed through a case and seen the year went back to 1976. You would be suprised how many smaller parts are still available for our cars, provided you are not wanting "as built original". Things like door bumpers, clips, etc. can be found from a GM dealer for a lot less than say Year One for example (and usually no shipping charge from a dealer) if you give them a part number to track down.

Also, it covers all GM's. So if the info could be transfered to a more user friendly format, maybe it could be used to raise funds by selling info to Corvette, Chevelle, etc. guys. Not sure if that would be allowed, but I would think copyright permission wouldn't be hard to get for some "outdated parts information", would it?

Anyway, if some of the BPG heads think this might be feasible, let me know.

I also own a set of microfiche...... I think mine go back to 65 or 66 and up to 74 or 75. I do have a reader,as that is what they used to send my paint formulas on. So, if anyone is in need of a part #, I can always look too.
